Nkonge police post in Kyampisi sub county Mukono district have rescued a 24 year old man from being lynched by the angry residents after catching him red handed trying to sell off a stolen cow.
The suspect has been identified as Steven Musoke a resident of Bulimu village in Kyapisi sub county Mukono district.
It is alleged that Musoke stole a cow belonging to one Musuni Mulungi yesterday night and has been caught from the area market center trying to sell it at shillings 300,000.
In his defense, Musoke said that he is not a robber as stated by the residents but he just finds himself outside his house during night hours stealing people’s animals.
The officer in charge of Nkonge police post Albert Asiimwe said that this is not the first time for the suspect to be arrested of robbing residents adding that he has just been released from prison over the same case.
Asiimwe added that police has been hunting him down for robbing a pig and he is to be taken to court and be charged with animal robbery.
