The Katikkiro of Buganda Eng. J.B. Walusimbi urged  religious leaders from the different sects in Uganda to work with the Kingdom and foster development in Buganda.

Katikkiro who was speaking to a group of Christians from Mugongo Kyengera Catholic parish in his office at Bulange, Mengo stressed that there is need for religious leaders to help the Kingdom in mobilizing people into developmental work since they frequently meet many people and their message is always taken with utmost respect.

He said that the Kingdom has many hopes that if religious leaders join the campaign, the project of restoring the tombs will be a great success.

The minister for Local Government and Cooperatives in Buganda Kingdom, Jolly Lutaaya who also attended the meeting appealed to everyone in Buganda to change their attitude towards the restoration of the tombs calling it satanic but that give their support to have the restoration work completed.

Rev. Fr. Ssebukoola who represented the parish priest Lawrence Kanyike called upon teachers to help children in their schools tour cultural sites and other historical sites because they are sources of diverse knowledge.

They informed Katikkiro that as Kyengera Catholic parish they chose to mobilize themselves and source for funds for the restoration of Kasubi Tombs as a way of appreciating the Kingdom’s efforts in bring religion to Uganda.

They contributed 2,530,000 towards the reconstruction of the tombs and pledged more support.
