Beyonce at last confronted rumors of her lip synching at the inauguration of President Barrack Obama on January 22nd admitting that she actually did.
The 31-year-old mother of one confessed, without any sort of remorse during the Super Bowl XLVII press conference after she asked everyone to rise and belted out a cappella rendition of the US national anthem. Confronting the question on everyone’s mind, Beyonce admitted that she dide indeed lip synch at the inauguration but it was because she did not want to risk not being perfect.
“I am a perfectionist and one thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed. I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra, it was a live television show,” Knowles explained. “Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check I did not feel comfortable taking the risk. It was about the President and the Inauguration so I decided to sing along with the prerecorded track, which is very common in the music industry,” continued Beyoncé. “I am very proud of my performance.”
Beyonce’s lip synching was first brought up by a Marine Band’s representative who said she indeed had lip synched, not sung live during the inauguration. She is one of the artists who is going to perform during Super Bowl XLVII and has assured viewers she will do it live. ”I will absolutely be singing live,” she said. “I am well-rehearsed and I will absolutely be singing live. This is what I was born to do, what I was born for.”
She will perform Sunday in her 12-minute halftime at Super Bowl.
