An American Neurologist has condemned the treatment of nodding disease basing on symptoms saying that there should be more investigation on the strange disease.
Over 300 cases of nodding syndrome have been registered in northern Uganda in the past two years.
The disease according to the doctors affects the nerves of children between 5 to 17 years.
Dr. Suzanne Bazda from USA, while talking to the press in Gulu during a nodding disease meeting urged the government to carry out more research on the strange disease.
Dr. Suzanne claimed that there should be more study on the brains of the nodding children instead of giving them other treatments.
She also promised to set up a treatment centre in the north which she said would be used as a day care centre for the nodding children.
Dr. Suzanne is one of the funders of Hope for Humans organization.
She is also known for setting up a treatment Centre at Aromo Wanglobo in Odek Sub County in Gulu district.
