Land wrangle have  erupted between the Alur and the Acholi Ethnic groups in Nwoya district .

The two  ethnic tribes are claiming ownership of  a two Km piece of land bordering in between.

During a meeting held on Wednesday this week in Nwoya, both of the representatives from the two ethnic groups attended and  different ideas were shared.

The Acholi in Nwoya district and the Alur tribe in Nebbi district agreed to bury their differences and use peaceful methods in resolving their differences without causing bloodshed.

Nwoya district chairman Patrick Okello Oryema urged the  groups to avoid taking  the law into their hands saying it would cause bloodshed.

Robert Okumu the Nebbi district chairman also urged the local people in the two  districts to act maturely so that they may resolve the boarder disputes.

The meeting was also attended by resident district commissioners, security officials, cultural leaders, Religious leaders, chief administrative officers from the two districts among others.
