Buganda’s Kingdom’s Katikkiro Eng. J.B. Walusimbi has cautioned  Ugandans to get rid of the attitude of under looking agriculture referring to it as a sector for the uneducated.

Katikkiro who was speaking during a one day workshop organized by Dynapharm to sensitize Buganda ministers on Di Grow fertilizers for both crops and animals at Bulange, in Mengo observed that many youths in Uganda mistake agriculture for the uneducated and throng themselves into cities to look for white collar jobs which they never find.

He stressed that Ugandans need to understand that agriculture is not only for the uneducated but a lucrative business that can be carried out by and social class especially the youth who have completed their education to earn a reasonable source of living.

Katikkiro warned the youth against selling off their land in villages to buy motorcycles commonly known as Boda bodas which he said deprives them of everlasting wealth that would empower them economically more than the boda bodas.

He emphasized that Ugandans need to upgrade their farming activities with modern farming technics that will lead to better yields because the market is readily available. He added that Buganda’s Bank will assist farmers in the efforts to promote and develop the agricultural sector.

The minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Forestry and Environment in Buganda Kingdom, Edward Lutaaya Mukomazi appealed to Ugandans to utilize Di Grow fertilizers which he said are natural and can revitalize tired land.
