A 70-year-old man killed his 30-year-old wife after she came back home clearly drunk and disrespected him.

The man who was only identified as Salamuka waited for his wife to come back home and asked her where she was from. According to reporters, Elizabeth Namulemo, the wife of Salamuka from Wankole, Kamuli district left home without any money on her. However, the 30-year-old came back home drunk.

Asked where she had got the money from, Elizabeth replied saying she had got some men from the bar who bought for her the drinks which got her drunk. They ended up fighting and arguing non stop during which time Elizabeth is said to have insulted her husband. In anger, Salamuka went into the house, brought a panga and cut up his wife till she died.

According to neighbors, the couple of 18 years met in a bar, started dating and later co-habited into a ‘marriage’ of sorts. They went on to add that for as long as they have known the couple, a month does not go by without quarreling.

At the moment, Salamuka is being held at Kamuli police station where he will charged with murder.
