Three primary school teachers in Kitgum district are said to be under police custody after they were allegedly found drunk during working hours.
The suspected teachers are locked up at Kitgum Matidi police Outpost. They were dragged from a bar during work hours following a tip off from concerned residents.
Walter Oyoo Komakech the Kitgum Matidi Sub county LC5 Councilor identified the teachers as Alaya, Bosco Otto Makmot of Pachudu primary school, and Martine Odoki of Layamo primary school.
Komakech told the press that it would be unfortunate if police releases the three teachers adding that they should be punished to serve as a warning to the rest of the teachers.
Titus Oryema the Kitgum district vice LC5 chairman warned that they may loose their jobs if convicted.
The local government standing order prohibits civil servants from drinking during working hours.
