Hajara Namata, a resident of Kyengera, Nsagi, Wakiso district was cut to pieces by one of her husbands who found out she had another man after him.

According to residents, at around 1:00am, they the man, who was not identified started by beating up Hajara before getting a panga and cut her to pieces. “It was around 1:00am when a woman knocked at my door saying they needed help, a man was beating up his wife severely. Later on, she came back saying he was cutting her up. We called police but wen they reached, they had already cut her up and the man had run away,” one of the residents narrated.

It is said Hajara had two husbands, one was the one who cut her up and the second one lived in Busega although these reports have not yet been confirmed by police. Her first husband was identified as Yiga Wahab, the one who stays in Busega.

Hajara’s hands, fingers, arms, ears and head were cut to pieces. Upon arrival, she was not dead and kept on calling onto the people to take her to hospital. She died three hours later from her injuries.

According to police, the murder weapon had been sharpened making it seem like a pre-meditated murder. Her body was taken to Mulago hospital mortuary where it will be removed and taken for burial as police investigations continue.
