Over 1800 bicycles have been idle at Mabua House.
These bicycles were donated to village health teams in Kampala division by the Ministry of Health last year but they were not delivered to the beneficiaries.
This was discovered by a group of MPs who stormed the lord mayors House, Mabua on a fact finding mission last week .
The MPs questioned KCCA officials why the bicycles were not delivered to the beneficiaries of which the KCCA of officials failed to explain.
The MPs further visited the executive director house at Sezibwa road were they found the properties worth of billion shillings and goods of street venders which were confiscated by KCCA law enforcement officers.
“This is unbelievable. Its very bad to confiscate peoples properties by a group of thieves in KCCA. We are going to make sure that the those who did such acts in KCCA are arrested. Every thing is going bad at city hall. We need to do something as far as cleaning KCCA is concerned” Said Rubaga North MP Moses Kasibante
The MPs were also surprised to see that the city mortuary is not working yet 700M shillings was allocated for city mortuary this financial year.
Dr Moses Baruhanga the head of medical services in the Uganda police in charge of KCCA mortuary told MPs that the city mortuary was closed in December 2011 and its no longer functioning until it has been renovated.
