Makerere university is getting ready for the election of the university guild president.
There are 10 students who are vying for the title with five of them stemming from popular political parties across the country like National Resistance Movement (NRM), Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and Democratic Party (DP), among others.
Last year saw DP’s Ivan Kata take the guild title seeing NRM losing the title once again.
Despite it being highly politicized, the university administration has called onto the students to take the elections and campaigns less seriously and make it less politicized.
Some of the candidates for this year’s guild presidency are Joshua Mukula, Harris, among others.
