World bank has extended its funding to Kampala Capital City Authority to complete its projects like road construction,drainage channels and general city development .The authority has been in panic over completing all World Bank funded projects which were incomplete by December 31,2012.
The spokesperson KCCA ,Peter Kauju told journalists on Tuesday that the authority had not suffered aid cut as some people were alleging .Kauju said that the authority made a formal request to world Bank to extend its funding to KCCA even though it had formally ended in 2012.
With aid from the World Bank, KCCA has managed to cover several roads like Kawempe-Mpererwe, Kawempe-Tula, Bukoto, Kisaasi and two other roads in Makindye plus many suburbs around the city.
The authority says with the three month contract extension,it will continue with development of city markets ,working on drainge channels and road contraction.
