Suicide cases in Acholi sub region keep coming up every day and night. Now the latest is that a 51 year old woman in Agago district is said to have allegedly committed suicide by drinking an Insecticide used for spraying Mosquitoes.

Hilda Akidi, a resident of Ladit Okun East village in Adilang Sub County allegedly drunk the Mosquitoes spray on Sunday evening killing her instantly.

Residents told the area Councilor , Joseph Bodo that Akidi exchanged two sachets of the IRS drugs[- the ante-mosquito spray which is always being sprayed to kill mosquitoes] with two chickens with a woman from the same village.

Bodo claimed that Akidi has always been explaining about her husband eloping with other women and suspects that it should have been her reason for committing suicide.

The residents also told the press in Agago that Akidi’s husband is reported to have migrated to Kampala where he has been staying with his new wife.

Akidi’s husband only identified as Lakot has been arrested and detained at Adilang police post.
