The Youth leader from Laroo division in Gulu Municipality has revealed that  Village health team members  are absconding from duty.

Samuel Oyet Agwani, the Youth Councilor for Laroo division say the members are  absconding from duty because of poor remuneration.

Oyet thinks that if these officials are  fully facilitated by the government  with bicycles and some allowances, they will perform better and help the ever increasing long queues at health centres.

“Some VHT’S have completely neglected their duty and they had resorted to delegating which is putting the lives of people in the division at risk”, Oyet explained.

Gulu district health department has equipped all VHT’S in the district on how to administer medication and even provided them bicycles to ease on their transport.
