The secretary of Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), Mathew Bukenya has announced that results of 43 schools have been withheld due to a number of reasons mainly due to examination malpractice.
This brings the number of students whose results were withheld to 1,603. Reasons of withholding the examinations mainly is external assistance.
General performance of students, according to Bukenya has increased with over 480, 000 students passing as opposed to 444,000 students in 2011. Boys performed better than the girls with 35, 347 boys passing in division one, 130, 109 in division 2, 50, 148 in division three and 29, 902 in division four.
