The Lamwo LC5 Chairman, Mathew Okiya Ocen has said that two residents in Madi Opei village have been confirmed dead after they were trapped in a bush fire yesterday.

Okiya identified the victims as Apoko and Akeli all from Madi Opei village in Lamwo district.

He said that the 2 residents had gone to wash clothes in a stream when they were caught in the bush fire.

He said Apoko and Akeli will be buried today [Friday] in Lokung Sub County in Lamwo district.

Akiya added they are yet to trace the clans’ members of those who set fire so that they may be fined.

He added that  the bush fire also destroyed houses , sorghum and  simsim plantations.
