Two people have been arrested for participating in the Black Monday protests today.

The arrested are Country Manager of Action Aid Uganda and a man identified as Leonard Okello. They were arrested for giving out Black Monday flyers. They are being detained at Jinja Road Police Station.

Black Monday is a movement aimed at helping in the fight against corruption. The movement requires that Black Monday activists put on black every Monday. At first, the movement was supposed to release names of the corrupt officials in the country. Today however, they were giving out booklets on corruption in Uganda.

Activists are supposed to be mourning corruption in the country which is at its highest.
