With only a few Weeks left for Schools to begin, Traders in Gulu have started hiking the prices of beans.
Carla Laker, a produce seller in Lacor Trading centre in Gulu Municipality said that many schools are now buying beans for feeding their children.
Laker said that during the beginning of the term, most of the schools buy in large quantities.Laker is optimistic that the prices of beans will rise at the end of the month.
Joseph Obalo another trader in Gulu Main Market said that the price of beans have already been hiked by many traders in Gulu town.
Obalo said that a kilogram of Yellow beans cost between 2,000 to 2,800 shillings per Kilo, from 800 shillings a kilo.
A Kilo of K20 beans ranges from 1,800 to 3,000 shillings from 1,000 shillings a kilo.
