According to the letter from clerk’s office Mrs Jane Kibirige dated 28th Jan this year, speaker Kadaga has fired two observer journalists from covering parliament proceeding over inaccurate reporting.
The letter from the Clerk of parliament notes that the observer published two false stories like the one of the House recall were the petitioner stuck a deal with Kadaga and another one of Kadaga Oulanyah fight over the petition.
The clerk says according to the letter which fired the two observer reporters that, the two articles not only full of inaccuracies but were are damaging the office of the speaker, the image of the speaker and deputy speaker.
“The reporters in filing inaccurate articles which they did not bother to cross check with either the office of the speaker or public relations office went against the guidelines of covering parliament of which they are aware. The motives of both articles are questionable and unfortunate” The clerk noted through the letter
“It is against this background therefore that a decision has been made to immediately fire the two reporters namely Mr John Tash Lumu and Mr Suleiman Kakaire since it is evident that the two are not in position to observer professionalism while reporting here at parliament” The clerk added
The observer has however given an option of bringing other reporter which will obey the guidelines of covering parliament.
