The speaker of parliament speaker Kadaga and Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi over the recall of parliament.Speaker Kadaga insists that the House should be recalled while the premier is inclined to the position of President Museveni and a few legislators that parliment should not be recalled.
Kadaga was captured by journalists leaving the Parliament’s boardroom where she was in a closed door meeting with the Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi, the Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Mr Nandala Mafabi, Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah and Commissioners Emmanuel Dombo, Chris Baryomunsi and Elijah Okupa.
Kadaga and other members of the Parliamentary Commission maintained recalling parliament is a constitutional matter but the executive is different over the decision.
“As long as the MPs stick to the right procedure, then I will recall the House,” Kadaga reportedly said.
The petitioners of the matter have so far raised enough signatures to recall parliament after successfully seeking the legislators support over the matter.
