The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga is today -Wednesday afternoon expected to decide on whether to recall parliament or not. The public relations officer of parliament told the press on Wednesday that the speaker is expected to decide on the matter as soon as possible .
The decision comes after the parliamentary legal team met and made recommendations concerning the petition which was presented by some MPs asking for the recall of parliament.Basing on the recommendations ,the speaker will give her position on the matter.
The MPs want parliament to be called from recess in order to discus the arrest of some MPs over the death of Butaleja MP ,Cerina Nebanda. The latest MP to be arrested is Workers MP Sam Lyomoki .He was arrested as on Tuesday after a talk show on WBS television.
Other MPs who were earlier summoned over the death of Nebanda include ,Theodore Ssekikubo,Mohammed Nsereko ,Betty Nambooze ,Katoto Hatib and Dr.Chris Baryomunsi .
One of the obstacles to decide on the petition is the desire of some members of parliament to withdraw their signatures from the petition and forces from the executive which insists that there is no need of recalling parliament to discuss the death of Nebanda when police is handling the matter.
