A UPDF soldier who attached to Luzira Military barracks who killed his wife and two other women was yesterday found guilty of manslaughter and was sentenced to 35 years in prison for his crimes.

Lance Corporal Herbert Rwakihembo appeared before the army General Court Martial sitting for using his AK47 sub machine gun to shoot and kill his wife, Irene Kawendeke and two women identified as Annette Nasolo and Loyce Kahendeke, friends of his wife and also shot at several residents of Kisenyi zone Luzira leaving one Aziz Bagawala, a Bodaboda cyclist, with multiple injuries.

He was handed 30 years for each of the three counts and 5 years over attempted murder and both sentences will be served concurrently. He will have to spend a total of 35 years behind bars.
