Locals of Abole Village in Ibakara Parish in Koro sub county Gulu district have suspended their LCI chairperson for allegedly refusing to  leave the Internally displaced camp and return to his ancestral home.

The residents suspended Kerobinah Otema -their Chairman LC I on the 1st of January 2013.

The Abole residents claimed that since their chairman had refused to go back to his home village it had been difficult for people to access his services.

During the meeting, residents also pointed out that Otema have done little to handle challenges arising in their village especially matters concerning theft, which they said had risen during the festive season.

They also said Otema occasionally beats up his wife and he allegedly attempted to rape a head teacher of one of the schools in the village.

When contacted for comment about his suspension, Otema said it was due to the influence of some people who hate him although he promised to reform and start serving the people efficiently.
