A 45 year old man of Miyene village in Oyam District yesterday survived death when he was rescued from the mobs who were lynching him for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.
The Police officers from Acimi Police post were alerted and they swung in action and saved Bernard Bao, a resident of Alebo in Maracha district
The police officer in charge of Acimi police post, Sylvano Odaga said that Bao is being accused of stealing motorcycle registration number UDX 684P.
Odaga said that according to some of the residents, the motorcycle Bao allegedly stole belongs to Ali Reskan, a resident of Karuma Town Board in Kiryandongo district.
Odaga claimed that Bao was arrested by resident while he was riding the motorcycle to Arua.
He said that they will investigate the matter further and penalize Bao if found guilty.
Bao is still the police custody in Oyam District.
