Police in Mbale is holding a Sacco chairman who is said to misused Sacco funds.

The suspect identified as Muhaire Moses, the chairman Mbale integrated association is believed to have misappropriated shs35 million given to the Sacco by president Museveni to boost the association’s activities.

The police spokes person in Elgon zone region, Diana Nandawula, said, that members to the Sacco got information concerning the money but they were amused to see that Muhaire declared only shs15m to the association which prompted them to forward the matter to the police
who also arrested the suspect.

Nandawula said, the accused is currently detained at Mbale central police station awaits trial as investigations are under way.
