By Emmanuel Omona PaOkech

Following the directives from the government to close all  boarding schools without  proper fire fighting equipment, the Gulu Police officer in charge of the fire Brigade, Kizito Wokorach has announced plans of  inspecting boarding schools and training students  on how to respond to fire out breaks.

Wokorach says that the training will involve students, teachers and school administrators. It will  commence soon as the term opens this year.

He explained that if the Buddo Junior school administrators were trained and equipped with fire safety, the  20 pupils could have been saved.

Wokorach also noted that the training will be done in every school so that they also take the time to monitor the facilities that some schools have.

Wokorach also noted that after training boarding schools, they will train business people so that fire outbreak is totally eliminated in Uganda.
