Police has resumed its operation of arresting drunk drivers after the new year fever faded away.

According to the Deputy police spokesman Vincent Sekatte, police had suspended its operations for two days, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day to allow the public to enjoy the end of their festive season. However, the police has resumed their work and Sekatte called upon drivers to be careful when driving.

Police recently started an operation on curbing the increasing cases of road accidents as a result of drunk driving by using a breathalyzer to determine how much alcohol the driver has consumed.

There were increasing road accidents, most of them caused by drunken driving. The operation helped in reducing the road accidents and stop drunk drivers from driving at all.
