The police has denied torturing Lwemiyaga County MP ,Theodore  Ssekikubo during his arrest on Monday evening .It says the MP was arrested normally without any excessive force or beating  as several reports have been claiming.

Several reports indicate that Ssekikubo was dragged bitterly  from his car on Bombo road while at City Oil filling station where he had branched to refill his car. It is alleged that at that point, police detectives who had been trailing him in a Toyota Premio Reg. N0. UAP 297J  and ordered him out of his vehicle .And when he -Ssekikubo started locking his car windows,the detectives used force to drag him out.

Deputy police spokes person Vincent Ssekate however made it clear on Wednesday that police did not torture him as some people claim.Kampala Central MP ,Mohamed Nsereko and Rubanda West MP, Wilfred Nuwagaba on Tuesday told the press that Ssekikubo was tortured during his arrest .They condemned the action adding that it was uncalled for .

Ssekikubo was released yesterday evening on police bond.Police on Monday  arrested him over the statements he made over the death of the late Butaleja MP ,Cerinah Nebanda.

Other MPs like Mukono Municipality MP,Betty Nambooze ,Worker’s MP ,Sam Lyomoki ,Kototo Hatib were summoned by police over the statements they made over the death of Nebanda .They are all set to  explain the statements before the Special Investigations unit in Kireka.By press time Betty Nambooze had arrived at the offices for questioning.
