The District police commander for Gulu district has announced plans to arrest head teachers who coverup teachers who defile pupils.

The Gulu DPC claimed that the vice has become so much in Gulu district schools which he suspects that may ruin the education of many young girls.

David Okot also maintained that they are pretty prepared to join hands with the parents to fight against defilement by teachers in Gulu schools.

The Gulu DPC warned that any person caught will be charged according to the section 131 of the penal code act.

The district inspector of schools Robinson Obwot when contacted said that over 40 girls in just the first quarter of 2012/13 had gotten married and became pregnant.

Oboth said that if the vice is left unchecked, very few girls will complete their studies.
