The PLE 2012 Best Performing Districts have been named. Fort Portal Municipality has topped the country with a 0.1 per cent failure rate, meaning the majority of students passed their 2012 PLE Examinations .
Ntungamo and Rukungiri came second and third with 0.2 per cent, Mbarara had 0.3 per cent, and Entebbe with 0.8 per cent.
Meanwhile the worst performing districts are Luuka with a 32.1 per cent failure rate, Kween with 30.5 per cent, Namutumba with 28.3 per cent, Bukwo with 27.7 per cent and Iganga with 25.2 per cent.
English was the best performed subject, it was followed by SST and then Science. Mathematics was the worst performed subject.
10.9 per cent students passed in Division One, compared to 9.6 per cent in 2011.
59,154 passed in first division, 25,035 in second division, 103,174 in third division, 67,704 in forth division and over 60,000 un graded.
UNEB’s Board Chairman ,Fagil Monday handed over the 2012 PLE Results to Minister Jessica Alupo at Statistics House in Kampala on Monday morning.
School Head teachers are expected to pick the results from the UNEB offices in Ntinda on Jan. 21 at 2pm.Parents and pupils can still access their results by sending messages to 6600 to get the results.
