The parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has directed the spokesperson of Uganda Veterans Assistance Board (UVAB), Mweru Samuel to bring the necessary documents regarding over 600 million shillings he received on his personal account from  the office of the Prime Minister

Appearing before the committee chaired by Casino Wadri, Mr Mweru Samuel failed to present evidence in form of requisition letters, accountability and acknowledgment receipts for the monies he received from the premier’s office which is now being investigated over fraud.

The committee discovered that Mweru on 16/3/2011 received shs97m from Kazinda, on 16/4/2011 received another shs95m, on 22/7/2011, received 96m, on 28th same month, he received shs98m twice among others, but evidence of return, accountability or acknowledgment letters was lacking.

Mweru however, claimed that all these monies were partly refunded and others which were requisitioned for were accounted for, but failed to bring evidence to back him up until the committee directed him to bring these documents tomorrow at 10am.

The committee directed him to bring his bank statement for the year 2011, accountability, acknowledgment letters and requisition letters.
