Amon Takwenda one of the accountants in the scandal of the disappearance of funds in the Office of the Prime Minister has  died .Amon Takwenda died on Saturday as  his relatives tried to rush him to Naguru Hospital.

Family members said ,he died of stress and diabetes.He was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital.One of his relatives ,Jackson Kimbesa said Takwenda has been undergoing treatment for some days.

In November ,Amon Takwenda  appeared before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations  and was  grilled over the transfer of 20 billion shillings from the Office in the Prime Minister (OPM).

The money was part of  the mismanaged 50 billion shillings meant for the Peace, Recovery and Development Program (PRDP) in Northern Uganda.

Takwenda was  an official attached to the office of the Accountant General.
