The ruling National Resistance Movement Party will today Friday elect its Party flag bearer for the Butaleja Woman MP by-election.
The party nominated six candidates in an exercise which was concluded on Thursday.According to NRM Electoral commission chairman, Professor Elijah Mushemeza, During today’s exercise the successful candidate will be declared as the NRM flag bearer to contest with other candidates in the race for Butaleja district woman MP.
Among the nominees is Florence Andiru Nebanda, a sister to the late Cerinah Nebanda, the former woman MP for Butalejja District.Other candidates in the race are ,Ida Hadoto Mukisa, Sarah Namusabi, Allen Wegulo, Mary Mboira and Betty Nesihwe.
Florance Nebanda says she is ready to push on the work of her late sister ,Cerina Nebanda since she feels the issues of Butaleja at heart.
“I have come to develop Butaleja, to accomplish all the projects my sister Nebanda had started in Butaleja .I feel I am the only one that can fit in her shoes”. Nebanda said
The Electoral Commission organized the by -election after the death of MP.Cerinah Nebanda who died on December 14,2012.The polling date is February 11,2013.
