By Juma Nsubuga

Members of Buganda caucus who belong to the Ruling  NRM  party have resolved to move a vote of no confidence in the leadership of Betty Nambooze and Godfrey Kiwanda over the words they uttered during the death of the late Cerina Nebanda.

According to the source in Kyankwanzi, the motion to move a vote of no confidence in the leadership of Kiwanda and Nambooze was moved by Kyankwanzi district woman MP Annie Maria Nankabirwa and seconded by all Buganda caucus members who attended the Kyankwanzi retreat except Hon Theodore Sekikubo.

The members said that Kiwanda was on front page of soliciting signatures to recall the House of which government opposed while Hon Nambooze also gave information about the death of Cerina when she was invited on a radio talk show.

However, Hon Sekikubo opposed the motion of firing the Buganda caucus top leadership. “We can not fire those people. Kiwanda has played a big role in bringing the opposition close to NRM, firing him will not help us at all,” Hon Sekikubo noted

The members further suggested that if Kiwanda and Nambooze are sacked, they will be replaced by Tim Mutekanga Lwanga the Kyamuswa county MP and Annie Maria Nankabirwa the Kyankwanzi district woman MP.

Meanwhile Hon Godfrey Kiwanda told our reporter that it was just a casual discussion by NRM Buganda caucus members in Kyankwanzi adding that members don’t have powers to sack him in Kyankwanzi because Kyankwanzi retreat is for NRM Not a Buganda retreat.
