Elections for the candidate who is going to represent NRM in the Butaleja Woman MP by elections come next month have already begun.
There are six candidates on the NRM party ticket are vying to represent the party. Of these are the sister to the late Butaleja Woman MP, Cerinah Nebanda, Florence Andiru Nebanda, Ida Hadoto Mukisa, Sarah Namusabi, Allen Wegulo, Mary Mboira and Betty Nesihwe.
According to Mike Mukula, the elections have already begun and they are going on smoothly. “By 5pm, the results will be ready and we will have the candidate who will represent the party,” Mukula said.
The elections come in the wake after the death of Butaleja Woman MP, Nebanda who died last month of drug over dose according to parliament. FDC is also to elect its party’s flag bearer on Saturday; it also has six candidates vying to represent the party.
Official elections organized by the Electoral Commission for Butaleja Woman MP is to take place on February 11th, a few months after the death of Nebanda.
