In the 2012 PLE Examinations, more pupils  in Acholi sub region  passed compared to 2011.

According to the examination released from Uganda National Examination board on Monday , 445 pupils passed in Division One up from 375 in 2011.

A total of 1,825 passed in Division two in Gulu Municipality alone.

Also in Acholi sub Region ,Kitgum district emerged the best in Acholi with 224 pupils  passing in Division One and 752 passing in division two.

In Agago district, 130 pupils passed in Division One and 1663 passed in Division two.

Pader District took the 4th position with 66 pupils passing in Division and 1277 passing in Division two

In Amuru district which was the third last in the whole of Uganda, 40 pupils passed in Division One and 1,029 passed in Division two.

Ocan Christopher the Amuru district Inspector of Schools said that he was grateful for the improvements.

Meanwhile in  Nwoya district, it was a bad news with only 11 pupils passing in Division one and 554 passing in Division two.

The district has a lot of challenges in their education department. Just only a week to PLE Examinations, 8 girls  reportedly disappeared from school.

The head teachers and their parents could not tell  there whereabouts .

Some of the parents are also accused of marrying off their daughters as one of the ways of getting rid of their parental  responsibilities.

In Lango Sub region ,Apac district had 226 pupils in Division One and 2235 in Division

Apac district had  224 pupils passing in Division One and 2347 in Division two, while in Oyam district 146 pupils passed in Division One and 2347 passed in Division Two.
