The Mufti of Uganda His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje has urged Muslims to educate their children in order to build a strong Muslim community.
Mufti Mubaje revealed this while addressing Muslims in Nyamitanga-Mbarara district at the last funeral rites of the late Haji Noor Lubega, the former district Secretary for Mbarara Muslim District Council.
Mufti Mubaje said that he has embarked on using Islamic gatherings to promote unity and development especially among muslims.
“As Muslims leaders, we should use such forums to promote unity and development not only to plan mosque takeovers”Sheikh Mubaje advised
He said that much as there are voices that are trying to saw seeds of divisions and hatred, Uganda Muslim Supreme Council is making a lot of progress in ensuring unity.
“The fact that we do not respond to our detractors with outbursts like they do to us ,does not mean we are weak or doing nothing. With its diplomatic approach, UMSC is progressively demystifying the lies leveled against it”The Mufti confirmed
The Mufti called for Muslim Unity and assured the audience that, UMSC does not agree with those who say that all factions should go back to their camps.
He further said any one who breaks away from UMSC should know that it is a step towards disunity and it only lead to the weakness of the Ummah.
“Like any other reputable institution, we do not accept outside interference, we only accommodate those people who call for reform through the UMSC structures” he said.
