Some members of parliament have threatened to shun food provided at parliament over the fear of being poisoned.

Mukono Municipality MP,Betty Nambooze and MP Ssemuju Nganda while addressing   journalists at parliament of Thursday morning stated that currently a number of MPs suspect that they could have been poisoned already or there are plans to poison them.

Nambooze threatened that the fearful MPs will soon get  food and water containers to carry their food from home such that they are secure with their lives.

“We will soon start carrying our food from home in order to be safe ‘  Nambooze said.

She has also called upon government to open up an independent inquiry to investigate the distribution and use of poison in the country  .Nambooze added that this independent committee on Poison will be responsible for registering all people dealing in poison in the country.
