By our reporter

Dokolo district Woman MP Cecilia Ogwal  has joined her fellow MPs to oppose  the speaker‘s decision to throw out a petition to recall parliament  saying that she would have stood her ground although she is under the  pressure  of the  executive.

Ogwal has told journalists at parliament that this is not the first time members are threatened to withdraw signatures from a petition , but the speaker would have gone ahead to recall parliament.

The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga wrote to the petitioner’s yesterday telling them that their petition was invalid because some MPs had withdrew their signatures.

Ogwal says the speaker should have made those members who withdrew signatures to prove that their signatures were forged.
