Obongi county MP, Fungaroo Hassan Kaps is being accused by the Regional police commander North Western Region, Fredrick Ssegiriinya of organizing a demonstration at Sinyanya landing site in Moyo district.

Ssegiriinya accused the legislator for leading a demonstration of  over 30 youths in his constituency and crossed over to Adjumani after the ferry operations stalled.

Ssegiirinya explained that Fungaroo has no powers to cross over to other constituencies saying it is an offence.

The RPC added that the MP’s approach was wrong and termed it as far fetched.

He says the MP would be arrested by the police in case he tries to organize a demonstration.

Our attempts to get comments from the accused MP were fruitless since he could neither answer nor call back our repeated calls.

The operations of the ferry have been affected as a result of heavy rains which caused a blockage of the landing site.
