The Kitgum woman who gave birth to a set of triplets on 31st of December 2012 has been transferred to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Kitgum District for proper care.
Susan Lalam 32 gave birth to a set of triplets normally from Omi-Anyima Health Centre 3 on the 31st of December 2012.
Suzan Lalam is a wife to Patrick Akaka, a farmer in Omiy-Anyima village in Kitgum district.The couple now has 7 children in all.
Dr. Luka Nyeko the chairman LC 5 for Kitgum District said that they transferred the woman to St. Joseph’s Hospital because they realized that she could get complications since she does not have enough breast Milk for her babies.
“My Office has transported the woman from her village to St. Joseph because we realized that the babies may get infections as a result of poor hygiene and also we wanted the health workers to help in giving enough nutrition.”, Nyeko said.
Dr. Nyeko also added that, “Because of little breast milk, Lalam’s babies may become malnourished they need to be looked after by the health workers”.
