The minister of Finance Maria Kiwanuka has warned Ugandans against the over dependency on the Oil revenue.
Minister Kiwanuka said that Uganda has other revenues apart from Oil and Gas which can help the country to develop.
While opening a two day workshop of East African Regional Forum on oil and Gas management yesterday in Kampala, Mrs Kiwanuka noted that government plans to utilize revenue accrued from natural resources especially from oil and Gas.
She added that government will use Oil and Gas money to expand the country’s agricultural and agro processing sector.
“Oil and Gas will help the country to enhance the sector which is part of government’s development Agenda for unlocking the agricultural potential by developing infrastructural services for the better development of agricultural sector” The minister noted
She also said that, this will improve the country agricultural production consequently to help the country to attain the macro economic challenges of employment.
