The minister of education Jessica Alupo together with the police spokesperson Judith Nabakooba has today joined the thousands of students who have graduated at Makerere University in different fields.
Minister Alupo and Nabakooba both received masters in international relations.
Thousands of grandaunts received their diplomas, degrees masters from different fields of Humanities and social sciences, health science, veterinary medicine, natural sciences.
While addressing the congregation, the university chancellor, Prof. Mondo Kagonyera expressed disappointment about the ever increasing problem of unemployment in the country which has left graduates with nothing to do to earn a living .He challenged the university to think of teaching students basic skills course which will help them in the future.
The education minister, Jessica Alupo commented on the ever increasing enrollment numbers at different tertiary institutions in the country which is now gender balanced, with many females graduating in different fields every year.
Meanwhile the vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Ddumba Ssentamu told graduands that the degrees awarded to them are just foundations to their lives which need to be built on.
The institution will for the next four days be passing out grandaunts in different fields in its 63rd graduation ceremony.
