By Lydia Nsubuga

In a bid to champion domestic violence in Uganda, men (husbands) have been urged to always accompany and support their women (wives) in all aspects.

This was by the Executive Director Community Awareness & Response on Aids (CARA), Willy Kabiyamba Beyunga in an exclusive interview with Uganda Picks.

He revealed that many families in Uganda have broken-up due to some family planning issues in the sense that many women go for the service without the consent of their husbands thus marriage break down (domestic violence).

He added on that even many women have reached an extent of getting complications as a result of engaging in family planning issues simply because they get the services on tension & on a hurry without proper prescriptions of a qualified Doctor thus causing problems in the homes and worse still, even those with HIV/AIDS have fallen victims.

He encouraged the men to always be supportive & take their obligations vital in homes more especially on health issues among others as well as the women to also be submissive to their husbands thus fighting the rampant domestic violence in Uganda.
