The police in Amuru district say they have a case of a man who early this week attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat in Atiak Sub County.The man is also said to be developing a mental problem.

Andrew Abal  from Amuru police says that their investigation shows that Jacob Okot was developing some mental problem at the time he tried to hurt himself.

Abal told the press today  that Okot who has been discharged from hospital,  is improving and will have to go back to the Hospital on the 14th of January 2013 so that the stitches can be removed.

Abal explains that they are watching over Okot so that he may not risk committing suicide again.
