The 63rd graduation ceremony for Makerere University has kicked off today at the university graduation grounds with over 1, 000 students graduating on the first day.
The ceremony is supposed to last for four days beginning today and ending Friday 25th January. 12, 409 students are supposed to graduate this year. Of these, 248 are to graduate in first class.
6,588 are male and 5,821 are female.
However, over 300 student are to miss graduation this year for a number of reasons. A total of 600 students might miss. According to the graduation program, today, graduands from College of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal resources and Biosecurity, College of Humanities and social sciences and College of Natural Sciences will be awarded their respective degrees, diplomas and certificates are to graduate.
Tomorrow, 23rd January, 2013, Graduands from College of Business and Management Sciences, College of Computing and Information sciences will be awarded the qualifications while on Thursday 24th, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, College of Engineering, design, Art and Technology, College of Education and External Studies and School of Law graduation.
On Friday 25th January 2013, Makerere University Business School graduation.
