KCCA Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago has written to the urban division councils and warned them about the pending repercussions on the budgets they draw and send to the city main head offices for implementation saying they are out of KCCA laws.
While addressing the press on Tuesday ,Lukwago said that this year will be tough to all people who mis uses KCCA money.
He condemned the way urban councils make budgets with no development plans in place.He called for integrated development plans for Kampala with better targets to achieve.
“Over the past two financial years, KCCA has presented budgets worth, UGX. 300bn to facilitate daily duties, we are yet to find out how the money has been used.” He said
Lukwago also announced a massive cleaning of the city this Saturday as one of events for the country to mark 27 years of the NRM rule.
He said that the massive activity will start from Kisenyi, through Kikubo, Taxi Park and will be climaxed with a gathering at Nakivubo settlement primary school.
He added that he has already written to the IGP, minister for presidency since the activity is going to attract political leaders from all political parties and leaders from the civil society sect.
