Former Forum for Democratic Change Leader ,Col .Kizza Besigye ,Mathias Mpuuga ,and Muwanga Kivumbi and other opposition officials  under the 4GC group have been summoned by police over managing an unlawful society and falsely accusing police of abusing people’s rights   .

The opposition leaders are required to report at the Special Investigations Unit offices in Kireka on 27 January .The Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander, Andrew Kaweesi told  a press conference on Thursday that the group would be asked to substantiate their ‘unlawful’ remarks.

“I have notified the Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Directorate CIID) to summon leaders of 4GC to record statements over utterances they made,” he said.
Specifically Dr. Kizza Besigye is faulted for accusing  police of denying Ugandans a right to demonstrate.

“What we want is not money but support for the right of Ugandans to express themselves and demonstrate. It’s unfortunate that Uganda has continued to violate that right,” he said.
Kaweesi says Besigye and his group will be arrested if  they dare stage the rally on January 26th .The group has planned to clean up the city on Saturday under the ‘Kampala Yanye ‘  clean up initiative and later hold a consultative rally at Nakivubo Settlement Primary School.
