Kenya’s President ,Mwai Kibaki  has approved his Sh25m retirement bonus ,two days after he rejected the Mps hefty bonuses.

President Mwai Kibaki has approved a bill that awarded him a Sh25 million send-off packages as well as other retirement benefits,according to Capital news

The Presidential Retirement Benefits Amendment Bill gives President Kibaki and former president  Daniel arap Moi a monthly pension, house allowance and a monthly entertainment allowance.

The law on presidential benefits intends to amend the Presidential Retirement Benefits Act of 2003 in order to take into account the inflation trends in the computation of the benefits payable to a retired president.

President Mwai Kibaki on Saturday declined to assent to a Bill  which grants MPs huge allowances .The MPs will miss Sh9.3 million in gratuity and a host of perks including armed security guards, diplomatic passports, cars, domestic servants and state funerals for their lifetime. Their spouses were also to enjoy the same benefits.
