The trial for Principal Accountant in the Office of the Prime Minister, Geoffrey Kazinda is set to being today.
Kazinda was supposed to appear in court January 7th but failed to appear after prison doctors refused to recommend him for trial on separate charges of abuse of office, forgery and making documents without authority. The trial was postponed but will be conducted by Justice David Wangutusi as Principal state attorney Jane Frances Abodo and State Attorney Paul Lakidi are to prosecute the case. City lawyer MacDosman Kabega is representing Kazinda. The trial is to take place at the Anti-Corruption Court.
Today, Kazinda answers to charges of embezzlement, false accounting and conspiracy to commit a felon jointly with a number of other officials he worked with in the OPM.
